Description

This postcard pays homage to one of the most universal and timeless rituals: tea. A drink of sharing, serenity, and travel, tea transcends centuries and continents, carrying with it the traditions and know-how of the entire world. Born in China more than 5,000 years ago, it is said to have been discovered, according to legend, by Emperor Shen Nong, when a wild tea leaf fell into his bowl of hot water. Since then, its fragrance and virtues have conquered Asia, before spreading to Europe in the 17th century, becoming a symbol of refinement and conviviality.

Through this creation, Lotza illustrates that suspended moment we allow ourselves around a steaming cup. The composition evokes the calm, warmth, and simplicity of this daily moment, which each person adapts in their own way—Japanese green tea, Assam black tea, floral or honey infusion… Behind each sip lies a story of culture and travel, of maritime routes and traditions passed down.

This postcard is an ode to the gentle pleasures of everyday life and the art of taking time. Tea, much more than just a drink, connects people and soothes the mind. With this artwork, Lotza celebrates a global heritage, a simple gesture that has become a symbol of harmony, sharing, and balance.

Hi, I'm Lotza.

The illustrator

Hi, I'm Lisa and I illustrate all the posters you can find in this online store.

I draw the posters on Illustrator using a pen, a vector drawing tool.
My illustrations are not transformed photos, called "vectorized" in the jargon. I choose my destinations myself; I am currently working on my Tour de France.

To create an illustration, I often use photos from my travels or royalty-free photos for commercial use in order to remain faithful to reality and I take the liberty of modifying the design and layout.

I also base my work on my drawings, which I scan and redraw on Illustrator; this is especially the case for my portraits of women.
