Description

The beauty and charm of the African woman looking to the right, toward the future, is highlighted by a deep blue in this original artwork by Lotza . There are millions of African women in the world, each woman has her own unique history, culture, life, and experience. African women are diverse and represent a large number of ethnic, linguistic, and religious communities. Some African women are rural workers, others are professionals, artists, activists, or leaders. African women have unique experiences that are influenced by many factors such as geography, culture, history, religion, education, economics, and politics.
Despite advances in women's rights, African women continue to face significant challenges, such as discrimination, gender-based violence, poverty, economic inequality, and social exclusion. African women are often underrepresented in positions of power and decision-making and have even less access to health services, education, and employment.

It is important to recognize and value the contributions of African women in all areas of society and to support their struggle for gender equality and their full participation in social, economic and political life.

This illustration by Lotza celebrates the beauty and strength of the African woman, looking toward the future, her gaze filled with determination. Bathed in a deep, intense blue, a symbol of wisdom and hope, this artistic creation celebrates the diversity and richness of African cultures through a portrait that is at once sober, powerful, and evocative.

Every African woman carries within her a unique story, shaped by her origins, language, tradition, and experiences. From rural areas to large cities, they are workers, artists, entrepreneurs, activists, and leaders. This visual pays tribute to them by embodying their resilience in the face of daily challenges: inequality, discrimination, violence, poverty, and lack of access to education and healthcare.

Beyond aesthetics, this work makes visible a reality that is still too little represented: that of African women in their plurality, their fight for equality and their essential role in the social, economic and cultural development of the continent and the diaspora.

Through this original illustration, Lotza invites us to recognize the value, dignity, and power of African women. Ideal as a decorative poster or an artistically engaged card, this symbolic creation conveys a powerful message of respect, gratitude, and hope.

Hi, I'm Lotza!

The illustrator

Hi, I'm Lisa and I illustrate all the posters you can find in this online store.

I draw the posters on Illustrator using a pen, a vector drawing tool.
My illustrations are not transformed photos, called "vectorized" in the jargon. I choose my destinations myself; I am currently working on my Tour de France.

To create an illustration, I often use photos from my travels or royalty-free photos for commercial use in order to remain faithful to reality and I take the liberty of modifying the design and layout.

I also base my work on my drawings, which I scan and redraw on Illustrator; this is especially the case for my portraits of women.
