Description

Camembert is the name of a French cheese produced in the Orne department of Normandy. However, I can give you a brief history of the cheese's origin and the region where it is produced.
Camembert is a soft, bloomy-rind cheese native to the Normandy region of France. It was created by a farmer named Marie Harel in 1791, who reportedly received the recipe from a refractory priest during the French Revolution. Since then, Camembert has become a symbol of French gastronomy and one of the most popular cheeses in the world.

The Normandy region, where Camembert is produced, is known for its rich history, culture, natural beauty, and renowned cuisine. The region is famous for its high-quality dairy products, especially the cow's milk used to produce Camembert . The region's rolling green hills, winding rivers, and picturesque villages have inspired writers, artists, and travelers from around the world for centuries.

Although Camembert is not a village in Normandy, it is considered the birthplace of the famous cheese that bears its name. Visitors can visit the Camembert region to discover the local farms and cheese producers who continue the tradition of premium Camembert, as well as to explore the natural beauty and cultural richness of Normandy .

Lotza invites you to a gentle and timeless escape with this illustration dedicated to the Canal du Midi, a jewel of ingenuity and poetry nestled between sky and water. Through this poster, all the tranquil majesty of this legendary waterway invites itself into your interior, like a promise of travel to the slow rhythm of barges and lapping waters.

Nearly 240 kilometers long, the Canal du Midi connects the Garonne River to the Mediterranean Sea, crossing the sun-drenched hills of southern France. Conceived by Pierre-Paul Riquet in the 17th century, this monumental canal was one of the great engineering projects of its time—a technical feat that has become a masterpiece of harmony between man and nature.

In this poster, traditional boats glide peacefully across the calm waters, evoking the river epics of yesteryear. The banks, lined with century-old plane trees, create shaded paths, ideal for daydreaming and contemplation. Each lock, each bend in the canal tells a fragment of French history, a silent memory transmitted by the current.

Listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, the Canal du Midi is not just a historical relic: it is alive, inhabited, trodden daily by walkers, cyclists, and boatmen who perpetuate its spirit. It embodies a gentle way of life, an art of traveling slowly, away from the hustle and bustle, respecting time and the seasons.

This work by Lotza is much more than an image. It's an invitation to slow down, to breathe, to reconnect with what's essential. Ideal for lovers of history, nature, and heritage, this poster will add an elegant, luminous, and evocative touch to your decor.

Treat yourself to a fragment of the magic of the South, a piece of canal and sky, a floating interlude in your daily life.

Hi, I'm Lotza.

The illustrator

Hi, I'm Lisa and I illustrate all the posters you can find in this online store.

I draw the posters on Illustrator using a pen, a vector drawing tool.
My illustrations are not transformed photos, called "vectorized" in the jargon. I choose my destinations myself; I am currently working on my Tour de France.

To create an illustration, I often use photos from my travels or royalty-free photos for commercial use in order to remain faithful to reality and I take the liberty of modifying the design and layout.

I also base my work on my drawings, which I scan and redraw on Illustrator; this is especially the case for my portraits of women.
