Description

Tennis is a very popular racquet sport, played either by two players in singles or by two teams of two players in doubles, on a rectangular court divided by a net. The main objective is to hit the ball with a racquet so that it goes over the net and bounces in the opponent's court, while preventing the opponent from returning the ball properly within the boundaries of the court. This game requires agility, precision, speed, and endurance, making tennis a complete and demanding discipline.

The history of tennis is ancient and fascinating, dating back to its origins in the 12th century in a primitive form called "jeu de paume." Over the centuries, tennis has evolved considerably, particularly in the 19th century in Great Britain, where it structured itself into the modern sport we know today. Since then, it has become international, becoming a major competitive sport worldwide, with numerous professional and amateur tournaments attracting millions of spectators.

Tennis is played on a variety of surfaces, including grass, hard, and clay, each of which influences players' playing style and strategy. The sport combines technique, tactics, and mentality, with every exchange capable of turning the tide of a match. Whether for fun or competition, tennis offers an intense and captivating sporting experience accessible to all ages.

This original illustration by Lotza shines a spotlight on the world of tennis, paying homage to the beauty and dynamics of the sport. Perfect for fans, it elegantly illustrates the energy and passion that drive every match on the court.

Tennis is a universally loved racquet sport, played between two players in singles or two teams of two in doubles, on a rectangular court divided by a net. The objective is to get the ball over the net and onto the ground in the opponent's court, while preventing the opponent from returning the ball within the boundaries of the court. The sport combines speed, precision, endurance, and strategy, providing an intense and fast-paced spectacle.

Born several centuries ago, tennis has its roots in an ancient game of palm played in Europe since the 12th century. It gradually evolved, with a major development in the 19th century that gave rise to modern rules. Today, tennis is played all over the world, both at the amateur and professional levels, and is one of the most publicized sports thanks to its high-level international competitions.

Players adapt to different playing surfaces—clay, grass, or hard—which strongly influence ball speed and playing style. Each surface requires specific techniques and varied tactics, making each tournament unique. Tennis is also a sport where the mental aspect plays a key role: concentration, stress management, and resilience are essential qualities for performance.

This original artwork by Lotza celebrates the intensity and elegance of tennis, capturing the very essence of this fascinating sport. It represents a vibrant tribute to the players and the cultural richness of tennis, perfect for any enthusiast who wants to add a sporty and dynamic touch to their decor.

Hi, I'm Lotza.

The illustrator

Hi, I'm Lisa and I illustrate all the posters you can find in this online store.

I draw the posters on Illustrator using a pen, a vector drawing tool.
My illustrations are not transformed photos, called "vectorized" in the jargon. I choose my destinations myself; I am currently working on my Tour de France.

To create an illustration, I often use photos from my travels or royalty-free photos for commercial use in order to remain faithful to reality and I take the liberty of modifying the design and layout.

I also base my work on my drawings, which I scan and redraw on Illustrator; this is especially the case for my portraits of women.
