Hossegor Poster – A vibrant tribute to surf culture and the Atlantic Ocean

This illustration by Lotza highlights the soul of Hossegor, an iconic seaside resort on the Landes coast, known worldwide for its wild beaches and legendary waves. Through a refined yet energetic artistic composition, the poster captures the very essence of this town in southwest France: a place where surfing is not just a sport, but a true philosophy of life.

Hossegor, located between the Atlantic Ocean, sand dunes, and pine forests, is one of the best surfing spots in Europe, attracting surfers from all over the world every year. Its coastline is renowned for its powerful, hollow, and consistent waves, shaped by the underwater sandbanks of the Bay of Biscay. The town is deeply influenced by this surfing culture: it regularly hosts stages of the World Surfing Championship and has seen major figures in international surfing, such as Tom Curren, three-time world champion, who found a privileged place of expression here.

Lotza's illustration captures all this intensity with finesse: in the foreground, a surfboard evokes the promise of departure, commitment, and freedom. In the background, the shifting horizon is tinged with perfect, almost sculpted waves, a testament to the ocean's tumult and the raw natural beauty of this legendary coast. This scene is both peaceful and charged with energy, paying homage to the unbreakable bond between man and the ocean.

But Hossegor isn't just about surfing. It's also a town with elegant seaside architecture and typical half-timbered houses, a meeting place for sport, nature, and refinement. Its relaxed atmosphere, seafront cafes, local produce markets, and marine lake ideal for relaxing and strolling all contribute to making Hossegor a unique destination, combining sophistication and authenticity.

This poster is much more than a visual representation: it is an invitation to escape, to feel the salt on your skin, the wind in your hair, and that unique feeling of waiting by the water. Whether you are a passionate surfer or a lover of the Atlantic coast, this work will naturally find its place in a contemporary or bohemian interior, infusing a note of travel, adventure and freedom.

It symbolizes the spirit of Hossegor, that blend of power and calm, momentum and contemplation, so characteristic of great ocean destinations. By hanging it in your home, you bring a fragment of this surfing culture, this rhythm of life rocked by the tides, and you pay homage to a place where nature and sport come together in perfect visual and emotional harmony.

Hi, I'm Lotza.

The illustrator

Hi, I'm Lisa and I illustrate all the posters you can find in this online store.

I draw the posters on Illustrator using a pen, a vector drawing tool.
My illustrations are not transformed photos, called "vectorized" in the jargon. I choose my destinations myself; I am currently working on my Tour de France.

To create an illustration, I often use photos from my travels or royalty-free photos for commercial use in order to remain faithful to reality and I take the liberty of modifying the design and layout.

I also base my work on my drawings, which I scan and redraw on Illustrator; this is especially the case for my portraits of women.
