Description

Lotza 's illustration depicts the picturesque beauty of the town of Espelette , famous for its unique chili pepper. The red-tiled roofs, typical of the Basque region, add a vibrant pop of color to the scene, while the narrow, winding streets invite exploration. But it's the Espelette chili pepper that truly takes center stage in this illustration.

The garlands of chili peppers hanging from the facades are a testament to the region's history, where local producers dried chili peppers on sun-exposed facades. Today, this tradition is celebrated by the colorful garlands adorning the city's buildings. But it's not just the appearance that makes Espelette chili peppers unique. The Protected Designation of Origin (PDO) only applies to dried chili peppers, as the drying process concentrates their rich, spicy flavor.

This poster of Lotza is a tribute to the beauty and tradition of this iconic Basque town, as well as its iconic chili pepper. With its vibrant colors and faithful representation of the town, this poster is a unique piece of art that will add personality to any interior.

Hi, I'm Lotza.

The illustrator

Hi, I'm Lisa and I illustrate all the posters you can find in this online store.

I draw the posters on Illustrator using a pen, a vector drawing tool.
My illustrations are not transformed photos, called "vectorized" in the jargon. I choose my destinations myself; I am currently working on my Tour de France.

To create an illustration, I often use photos from my travels or royalty-free photos for commercial use in order to remain faithful to reality and I take the liberty of modifying the design and layout.

I also base my work on my drawings, which I scan and redraw on Illustrator; this is especially the case for my portraits of women.
