Description

Fly me to the moooooon! Ohhhhhh! The poster proposed by illustrator Lotza is a true work of art that pays homage to the fascinating history of the Chicago Theater . This iconic performance hall has seen the greatest names in music, film and theater, and has experienced many significant moments throughout its history.
One such milestone was September 10, 1986, when the Chicago Theater reopened after several years of renovations. To celebrate this momentous occasion, none other than one of the greatest entertainers of all time was chosen to perform the inaugural show: Frank Sinatra .

Lotza's poster features the theater's magnificent façade, adorned with its famous golden columns and graceful statues. But what really catches your eye is, of course, the illuminated sign at the top of the marquee, where Frank Sinatra's name is majestically displayed.
This poster is therefore a moving testimony to the rich and fascinating history of the Chicago Theater , and to the incredible talent of Frank Sinatra , who was able to gather an enthusiastic crowd to celebrate the reopening of this legendary venue. It will be perfect for all lovers of music, cinema and culture, who wish to add a touch of nostalgia and elegance to their interior decoration.

Chicago Theater Poster by Lotza – An illustrated tribute to Frank Sinatra and a landmark of American culture

Let yourself be transported to the legendary world of the American art scene with this captivating poster by illustrator Lotza, dedicated to the legendary Chicago Theater. A true icon of the city of Chicago, this majestic performance hall embodies both the elegance of early 20th-century architecture and the cultural richness of a venue that has seen the greatest names in live performance. In this illustration, every detail pays homage to this living heritage, from the richly decorated façade to the famous illuminated marquee, a symbol of a time when theater and music reigned supreme.

The highlight of this poster is undoubtedly the tribute to a historic moment: Frank Sinatra's concert on September 10, 1986, at the Chicago Theater's reopening after several years of closure and renovation. That evening, the American singing legend, known for his inimitable voice and timeless charisma, took the stage in front of a packed and emotional audience. His name proudly sits on the illuminated sign, forever marking the history of the venue and that of music.

The Chicago Theater is much more than a performance hall. Built in 1921, it is considered one of the first great American-style theaters, with architecture inspired by the French neo-Baroque style. Its majestic façade, frescoed grand lobby, and imposing chandeliers make it a work of art in its own right. From its beginnings, it hosted silent film screenings, concerts, and variety shows, quickly becoming a staple of Chicago's cultural life.

This poster celebrates not only the architectural beauty of the venue, but also the emotion of the moments shared within its walls: the echoing voices, the thunderous applause, the lights going down before a memorable performance. Through his unique graphic style, Lotza manages to capture the vibrant energy of this moment suspended in time, where the history of theater intersects with that of music.

Perfect for jazz and crooner music lovers, entertainment history buffs, Chicago lovers, or simply aesthetes looking for inspiring decor, this poster is more than just a visual object: it's an invitation to travel. It brings a retro and elegant touch to any interior space, while telling an iconic story of the American cultural scene.

Carefully printed on high-quality paper, this creation will appeal to both collectors and those looking for an original and meaningful gift. Whether in a living room, office, or workspace, this Chicago Theater poster stands out as a vibrant tribute to the art, collective memory, and emotional power of live music.

Hi, I'm Lotza.

The illustrator

Hi, I'm Lisa and I illustrate all the posters you can find in this online store.

I draw the posters on Illustrator using a pen, a vector drawing tool.
My illustrations are not transformed photos, called "vectorized" in the jargon. I choose my destinations myself; I am currently working on my Tour de France.

To create an illustration, I often use photos from my travels or royalty-free photos for commercial use in order to remain faithful to reality and I take the liberty of modifying the design and layout.

I also base my work on my drawings, which I scan and redraw on Illustrator; this is especially the case for my portraits of women.
