Description

In this original work by Lotza , we head to Biarritz in the Basque Country to swim at the Grande Plage . Known as the main beach in Biarritz, the Grande Plage in Biarritz was called "the coast of madmen" at the beginning of the 19th century, because therapeutic bathing was practiced there to restore sanity to the insane. The turning point came in 1854, when the town became the holiday residence of Napoleon III and his wife Eugenie. You will notice that the Villa Eugenie, located in the background of the illustration, was built by Napoleon III for his wife Eugenie. The building was constructed in the shape of the letter E, which we can see from a little height.

Biarritz is a coastal city located in southwest France, in the Pyrénées-Atlantiques department, Nouvelle-Aquitaine region. It is located on the Basque coast, on the Spanish border, and is known for its sandy beaches, surfing waves, and lively atmosphere.

Biarritz became a popular holiday destination in the 1800s when the French imperial family began vacationing there. Since then, it has become an elegant resort, with numerous luxury hotels, casinos, restaurants, and boutiques. The city is also known for its Belle Époque architecture, with many buildings built in this style.
Biarritz is located in the Bay of Biscay, on France's Atlantic coast. The city has a rich history, having been a favorite destination for European royalty and aristocrats in the 19th century. Today, it remains a popular tourist destination, offering a range of activities such as surfing, golf, and exploring the local Basque culture.

Biarritz is also famous for its outdoor activities, including surfing, golf, tennis, and hiking. It has famous surfing beaches such as Grande Plage and Côte des Basques, as well as natural parks such as the Pyrénées Atlantiques National Park. The city is also a popular stopover for travelers to Spain, as it is close to the Spanish border.

Hi, I'm Lotza.

The illustrator

Hi, I'm Lisa and I illustrate all the posters you can find in this online store.

I draw the posters on Illustrator using a pen, a vector drawing tool.
My illustrations are not transformed photos, called "vectorized" in the jargon. I choose my destinations myself; I am currently working on my Tour de France.

To create an illustration, I often use photos from my travels or royalty-free photos for commercial use in order to remain faithful to reality and I take the liberty of modifying the design and layout.

I also base my work on my drawings, which I scan and redraw on Illustrator; this is especially the case for my portraits of women.
