Description

Toulouse , nicknamed the "Pink City," is a city in southwestern France located on the banks of the Garonne River. It is known for its unique architecture, characterized by the use of terracotta bricks that give the city a pinkish hue. This architecture is particularly visible in the historic center of the city, where many medieval and Renaissance buildings are located.

Toulouse has a long history dating back to Roman times, and it was an important center of commerce and industry for centuries. In the Middle Ages, the city was a major cultural and religious center, with the construction of the Basilica of Saint-Sernin, which is a remarkable example of Romanesque architecture.

Over the centuries, Toulouse has become a prosperous city thanks to its strategic location on the Garonne River, which has enabled the development of trade and industry. The city is also an important center for aerospace and aviation, with the presence of major companies such as Airbus and the French National Center for Space Studies (CNES).

Today, Toulouse is a dynamic and cosmopolitan city, known for its culture, art of living, and gastronomy. The city is also home to numerous higher education and research institutions, making it an important center for science and technology in France.

Paris Postcard - Eiffel Tower

This original postcard by Lotza highlights the majestic Eiffel Tower and the famous Paris skyline, capturing the very essence of the "City of Lights." A true global icon, the Eiffel Tower is Paris's most iconic landmark and one of the most recognized symbols of France around the world.

Built by engineer Gustave Eiffel for the 1889 World's Fair, this wrought iron tower was initially envisioned as a temporary structure, intended to impress the public during the event. However, thanks to its innovative architecture and growing popularity, the Eiffel Tower has become a staple of the Parisian landscape and a jewel of French architectural heritage.

Built in just two years, between 1887 and 1889, the Eiffel Tower stands at 324 meters, making it the tallest structure in the world at the time. Its construction relies on more than 18,000 pieces of iron assembled with remarkable precision, for a total weight of approximately 10,100 tons.

Over the decades, the Eiffel Tower has witnessed many major historical events, such as its spectacular illumination for the 1900 World's Fair or its strategic role in transmitting radio signals during the First World War.

Today, the Eiffel Tower welcomes millions of visitors each year who come to admire its unique panoramas of Paris. It embodies the architectural genius, technological innovation, and cultural history of the French capital. This illustration by Lotza is an invitation to immerse yourself in the magic of Paris and celebrate this legendary monument that inspires dreams among travelers from around the world.

Hi, I'm Lotza!

The illustrator

Hi, I'm Lisa and I illustrate all the posters you can find in this online store.

I draw the posters on Illustrator using a pen, a vector drawing tool.
My illustrations are not transformed photos, called "vectorized" in the jargon. I choose my destinations myself; I am currently working on my Tour de France.

To create an illustration, I often use photos from my travels or royalty-free photos for commercial use in order to remain faithful to reality and I take the liberty of modifying the design and layout.

I also base my work on my drawings, which I scan and redraw on Illustrator; this is especially the case for my portraits of women.
