Description

Craving beer, kougelhof, or pretzels? This original creation by Lotza showcases the gourmet treasures of Alsace, a region with a culinary identity as rich as it is delicious. Illustrated with humor and refinement, this work celebrates a generous land, recognized as one of the most Michelin-starred in France by gastronomic guides.

Alsatian gastronomy is a true crossroads of traditions. Influenced by French and German cultures, as well as Swiss and Italian touches, it is distinguished by its authenticity and its commitment to local products. Signature dishes include sauerkraut, generously served with various smoked meats, baeckeoffe—a stew of potatoes, meat, and vegetables—and flammekueche, a thin tarte flambée with bacon and cream.

Sweet treats are not left out: the kougelhof, a majestic brioche cake often filled with raisins and almonds, the small Christmas shortbreads called bredele, or even the knepfle, a type of traditional fresh pasta, delight the most discerning palates. Each season, each festival, each village has its own recipes.

When it comes to drinks, Alsace is also a land of great vintages. Its beer, light or more full-bodied depending on the local brewery, is a source of regional pride. Alsace wines—Riesling, Gewurztraminer, Pinot Gris, Muscat—are renowned worldwide for their finesse and aromatic richness. Kirsch, a cherry brandy, completes this palette of flavors with a stronger, fruitier touch.

With this illustration, Lotza captures the essence of Alsatian cuisine: convivial, generous, rooted in tradition yet ever-present. A visual invitation to feast... on the eyes and the taste buds.

With this original creation by Lotza, let yourself be transported to Angoulême, a pearl of southwest France nestled in the heart of the Charente department. This illustration pays homage to the vibrant soul and rich heritage of the city, known as much for its architecture as for its visual culture.

The capital of comics, Angoulême hosts the prestigious International Comics Festival every year, one of Europe's largest cultural events, attracting authors, illustrators, and enthusiasts from around the world. It is this creativity that brings the city's walls to life, decorated with trompe-l'oeil frescoes inspired by the most famous comics.

Angoulême also captivates with its architectural heritage: the majestic Saint-Pierre d'Angoulême Cathedral, a jewel of Romanesque art, overlooks the rooftops of the old town. The county castle and medieval ramparts tell a thousand-year-old story, while the Angoulême Museum exhibits treasures ranging from archaeology to contemporary art.

The city is also part of the region's industrial tradition, particularly in the fields of printing, paper and animated images, thanks to innovation hubs such as Magelis.

And for epicureans, Angoulême is the gateway to the Cognac vineyards. Between tastings of Pineau des Charentes, cognac aged in oak barrels, and local white wines, the Charente terroir delights lovers of authentic flavors.

Lotza's illustration captures this cultural, historical, and gastronomic richness. It's an invitation to discover a city with a unique character, perfect for tastefully decorating an interior and arousing the curiosity of your guests. Ideal for those passionate about French heritage, comics, or beautiful regions to (re)discover.

Hi, I'm Lotza.

The illustrator

Hi, I'm Lisa and I illustrate all the posters you can find in this online store.

I draw the posters on Illustrator using a pen, a vector drawing tool.
My illustrations are not transformed photos, called "vectorized" in the jargon. I choose my destinations myself; I am currently working on my Tour de France.

To create an illustration, I often use photos from my travels or royalty-free photos for commercial use in order to remain faithful to reality and I take the liberty of modifying the design and layout.

I also base my work on my drawings, which I scan and redraw on Illustrator; this is especially the case for my portraits of women.
