Description

Who Runs the World? Girls! Discover the elegance and strength of early 20th-century aviators with this beautiful poster by Lotza. The illustration features a bold female aviator sitting aboard her plane, ready to take flight into the unknown. With a vintage style, the poster captures the spirit of aviation in its early days and celebrates the courage of women who broke gender barriers to pursue their dreams of flight.

The story of the first female aviator dates back to 1903, when French pioneer Raymonde de Laroche became the first woman to fly a plane solo. She quickly gained a reputation as a talented pilot and was the first woman to earn a pilot's license. In 1910, she also became the first woman to complete a high-altitude flight, reaching 3,000 meters.

Other women followed in Raymonde de Laroche's footsteps, including American Harriet Quimby, who became the first American woman to earn her pilot's license in 1911, and British woman Amy Johnson, who flew solo across the Atlantic in 1932.
This poster is a tribute to all the incredible women who paved the way for future generations of female aviators. Add this illustration to your collection and be inspired by the spirit of courage and determination it represents. Girl Power!

Who Runs the World? Girls!

Discover the strength and elegance of early 20th-century aviators in this stunning poster by Lotza. The illustration depicts a daring female pilot sitting in the cockpit of her vintage aircraft, ready to take off into the unknown. With a graphic style steeped in nostalgia, the poster captures the essence of early aviation and pays tribute to the pioneering women who dared to defy convention to conquer the skies.

The history of women's aviation begins with an iconic figure: Raymonde de Laroche, the first woman in the world to pilot a plane solo. Amy Johnson, a legendary British aviator, completed a solo flight from the United Kingdom to Australia in 1932, a feat that left a lasting impression.

It embodies the dream of freedom held by all those who refused to bow to the limits imposed by society. Through its careful aesthetic and powerful message, it invites reflection and admiration.

Hi, I'm Lotza.

The illustrator

Hi, I'm Lisa and I illustrate all the posters you can find in this online store.

I draw the posters on Illustrator using a pen, a vector drawing tool.
My illustrations are not transformed photos, called "vectorized" in the jargon. I choose my destinations myself; I am currently working on my Tour de France.

To create an illustration, I often use photos from my travels or royalty-free photos for commercial use in order to remain faithful to reality and I take the liberty of modifying the design and layout.

I also base my work on my drawings, which I scan and redraw on Illustrator; this is especially the case for my portraits of women.
